My Life: Who Am I and Where To From Here?
Jon is an accomplished public speaker having given a number of inspirational talks at:
Jon prefers to use the expression inspirational speaker rather than motivational speaker from the viewpoint of having been the captain and coach of many sports teams and having given these teams numerous motivational speeches. This has led to the suggestion that providing a motivational talk would serve the purpose of encouraging someone to apply themselves harder and with greater efforts within the specific task at hand. Whereas providing inspiration also encourages the possibility to embark upon something new and exciting, other than or over and above the task at hand, or activities currently being pursued in one’s life.
With this in mind, and the varied life that Jon has led with its spread of achievements and experiences, he is able to tailor his Inspirational Speaking to cover numerous subjects whilst providing actual personal experiences and insights, as can be seen from the variety of institutions at which he has given talks.
As an example, one of these talks is based upon his book, “Can Anyone Here Sing – six perspectives of peace”. After leaving secondary and tertiary educational institutions many young people find themselves at a loss in life. They are faced with uncertainties; decisions to make; choices. Who has prepared them for this? What training have they had? Where do they find the answers they seek? In this talk Jon provides insight into the nature of these problems. Not only does he provide the advice needed for each individual to find their answers, but also a frank, sometimes humorous and even scientific journey to finding a new awareness, a greater understanding of oneself and the ability to move forward peacefully, knowing where to go and why.
